Here is what they do, and why they work, and how they will help you, as they have helped others in pest control
Step 1. Steel Wool
Steel wool, is available to purchase anywhere (you probably have some under your kitchen sink). It is easily placed in holes around your home or business. Rats hate it, because rodents can't chew it. Use it and place it in holes anywhere you have rodents and problems simply filling holes with it.

Using a screw driver or pencil, (don't use your fingers, there might be a rodent in that hole) simply push the steel wool in a clump into the hole. Remember, rodents and pests can fit into the size of a nickel, so plug those holes.

Although we are not military experts, we are rat problem solving experts and pest control experts and can tell you this; to win a war you need to do two things fast.
1). Kill the enemy
2). Stop their movement (take out airports, roads, bridges etc..)
And for proper 'Pest Control' its NO DIFFERENT! Using the steel wool and plugging holes will greatly limit the movement of rats, mice and rodents in your home or business. It takes some time, in fact we continually look for holes in and outside our house that rodents might be trying to get through. Its a little 'on going' project that once you know, you always keep in the back of your mind.
If you have a large hole, like maybe under your sink where the plumbing pipes are coming in, then the steel wool would just fall into the big hole. So, what we would suggest is getting that expanding foam (sold at hardware stores), read the label and do things right, where gloves etc.. but you can spray the expanding foam into the hole and it will plug the hole.
BUT
That foam isn't enough, because we've seen rats chew right through it!
Also, add the foam slowly as it expands, because if you use too much, it will make a mess. Most types work, by spraying with the can held upside down and it has a long straw that pours the expanding foam into the hole.
You can then add some reinforcement of your steel wool into the foam to make it stronger.

I never had a clue that I had rats at the beach until my dog's food started disappearing.
My RatZapper kills all my rats as well as my neighbor's rats. There is no end it seems! In this latest streak I'm up to 4 rats in three days.
Attached is a photo of the last moment of last night's rat using my Moultrie night vision camera.
BTW, if you put the Rat Zapper on the ground it gets the mice. I eliminate rats when the zapper is placed up high on my wood pile.
-Will in San DiegoWill is using our larger Ratzapper called the Ultra. We have 2 kinds. The Classic and the Ultra. The only difference is that the Ultra (which is silver) uses 4 "D" Batteries and will get about 30 kills on a set of batteries. The Classic (is blue) and uses 4 "AA" batteries and will get about 10 to 12 kills of rats on a set of batteries.
Once you have your ratzapper, all you are going to do is turn it on and place it near the action or what we call the battle zone. This is your main problem area. The place where you see the rats damage or mess. Simply place the Ratzapper along the walls near the problem area. Often times you might get a kill right away, but if you move the RatZapper a few feet against the other wall, you might get more. Moving it around a little here and there could help you find the best spots for it.
Rats are creatures of habit and usually like to go in the same places, where they feel safe.
Why does the Ratzapper work so well?
As we mentioned, rats are more afraid of you, then you realize. They love to run along ceiling 2 x 4's and along the sides of the walls. They don't see well but they are survivors.
